Pittsburgh's Color Park

Looking to add some color into your 2020? Well, look no further. Take a trip to Pittsburgh's South Side to visit The Color Park located on The Three Rivers Heritage Trail. The Color Park is one of my favorite spots to visit in Pittsburgh. This fun, creative community space offers great views of the city from across the river. This is definitely a spot you have to check out.

The Color Park is located on a part of The Three Rivers Heritage Trail that was once a concrete factory. It was created in 2016 for the national Opening Day for Trails.

Baron Batch, a former Pittsburgh Steeler, is the artist who oversees The Color Park. In 2016, he teamed up with Friends of the Riverfront, a nonprofit whose mission is to clean up Pittsburgh’s riverfront and create hike and bike trails. Batch along with a few volunteers painted the concrete barriers that line the trail with vibrant colors and added some inspiring quotes and images. You can find more of Batch’s original artwork on his website.

Whether you're in it for a photo opportunity, love street art, or want to stop while on a bike ride along The Three Rivers Heritage Trail, check out this riverfront park this fall. It is a perfect outdoor activity to participate in while staying safe and practicing social distancing.
